Projects
Synapse (ongoing)
When I was 6 years old, my parents got divorced.
Through eyes fogged with childish imagination, one small area of forest became my sanctuary, an alternate dimension where sense was made of broken fragments and tainted memories.
The images of this series directly show my destruction and tedious reconstruction of these fragments. The photographic negative is physically cut into pieces and glued back together with aching hands and tired eyes, as plastic shards of tree branches offer glimpses into the past.
Each cut infers another, and although the glue fixes the fragment in place, the image has been transformed from something which existed for a split second, into something that was physically distorted for hours on end; placing the images in no one moment.
Synapse reflects on division, destruction and forgiven mistakes.
Gravity Anomaly / Aether (2024- 2025)
Gravity Anomaly is a sister project to Aether, continuing my photographic investigation of rocks. The project merges research of science, folklore and mythology, aiming to understand what has drawn humans to large rocks for thousands of years.
The term ‘Gravity Anomaly’ refers to variances in gravity across the Earth’s surface. These minute variances are caused by altitude, air pressure, latitude and the archelogical properties of the earth beneath you.
This work was included in the Inscape exhibition at The Poly, Falmouth in 2025. The cover image below was shortlisted for the London Independent Photography Student Competition (FLIP) 2026 and print editions have opened.
Grandeza (2022-2025)
A multi-media project spanning multiple visits and residencies in different areas of coastal Portugal. Grandeza features the vibrant tiles of Porto, off-the grid living in Ericeira and street scenes from Lisboa.
AD.2020 (2020-2022)
A coming of age documentary series set during a turbulent yet revealing two years. This project represents a strengthening of relationships against all odds and a battle against bordeom in suburban Yorkshire.
Featured in The Ilkley Arts Scholarship Exhibition in the Ilkley Manor House (2022).
